The city of Coachella, located approximately twenty–eight miles southeast of Palm Springs, is home to over 40,000 people in the Coachella Valley. Bagdouma Park is the city’s largest and most frequently used park. Situated on 34 acres, it features baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer and football fields, picnic facilities, a playground, and swimming pool.
Coachella is served by the Coachella Valley Unified School District and is home to seven elementary schools and two middle schools. Coachella’s high school students attend Coachella Valley High School located less than three miles away in Thermal.
